Certification notices and alerts
To renew your certification, please submit (by mail) the following in one envelope:
- Form TCFP-015, Application for Individual Renewal
. - Renewal Fees – see the renewal schedule below.
- Continuing education documents (please review the Renewal FAQs page for more information).

Make payments (personal check or money order) to: Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP). NO credit card payments.
NOTES
If you are currently employed by a regulated entity (e.g., a fire department or fire marshal's office) in Texas, your department is responsible for your renewal.
If your certificate has been expired one year or longer, you are not eligible to renew and you will be required meet testing requirements (which now include skills evaluations) before you can re-apply for certification. You can contact the commission's testing division at (512) 936-3819 for information on examination process.
