Resource library - mission
The Texas Commission on Fire Protection established the Ernest A. Emerson Fire Protection Resource Library as the preeminent statewide resource library for fire protection, fire prevention and education, research and educational materials for all fire service organization and professionals as well as private citizens and entities interested in improving the safety and life quality of all Texans from the hazards associated with fire, man-made and natural disasters.
The Ernest A. Emerson Fire Protection Resource Library is critical not only to the commission’s work in setting standards to ensure the safety of the fire protection professionals through its research and data collection of national, state, and local trends and tendencies as well as providing an outlet for exchange of ideas and educational materials. The library, as such, provides a valuable resource for the commission's fire service constituents attempting to build state of the art in-service and public safety and educational programs.
