Fire protection resource library overview

The commission's Ernest A. Emerson Fire Protection Resource Library provides materials on fire protection, fire prevention and fire safety education to fire service organizations, private citizens and other groups interested in helping to protect Texans from fire and other hazards.

The library helps the commission, its advisory committees and staff by collecting current national standards and other resources. The library assists in research and data collection on national, state, and local trends, as well as providing an outlet for exchanging ideas and educational materials. The library also provides resources to the commission's fire service constituents who are creating in-service training and public fire safety education programs.

The library's main phone number is (512) 936-3833.
