Named after Ernest A. Emerson, a former commissioner and staunch advocate of education in the fire service, the Fire Protection Resource Library provides educational and training materials to fire departments and the citizens of Texas. The library also offers research services and participates in public outreach.
The library is located in the commission's headquarters facility.
